Hope in Kibera, Kenya, as promised.
Shown here are Stella and her son, David. Stella is the garden keeper in what might be the most challenging place I've seen. DIG created a garden in a schoolyard in Kibera. Kibera is one of the world's largest slums with approximately 1 million people living there. Stretching about 7 kilometers, Kibera looks like an inner-city landslide of trash & rusty tin roofs. DIG's garden is an oasis. 850 children attend school at this location. The garden certainly has its work cut out as does Stella.
